Welcome to Mrs. Christlieb's Third Grade Site!
Please continue to check your child for lice. We are still hearing of outbreaks. Lice are most likely to spread form direct head-to-head contact. They are not jumpers and cannot survive long without a host (your child's head). If you find lice on your child, please notify me so I can inform the other parents. Rememeber: As winter weather descends upon us, students are to be dropped off and picked-up in the auditorium. In the morning, students will be allowed to go to their classrooms at 8:55. Please do not send your child directly to the classroom. I cannot guarantee that an adult will be in the room. In the afternoon, expect to pick your child up in the auditorium. DO NOT COME TO THE FOURTH FLOOR. If you need your child early, go straight to the office. They will notify me that you are ready to pick-up your child from the office. With 31 students, I need every parent to assist with an orderly arrival and dismissal. Thanks so much for your help. Have a great week! Welcome to Third Grade! Welcome! My name is Rachel Christlieb and I am so excited to be teaching your child. This year marks my 11th year of teaching and my 5th year at Nettelhorst. I have been teaching in CPS for 7 years and taught in Champaign, Illinois before coming to Chicago. I have my National Board Certification and my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. When I'm not teaching, I'm hanging out with my husband (David) and daughter (Edith, 2 1/2). I also love to read, clean, shop, and hang out with friends. I am so excited to have your child in my class. We have a busy and exciting year ahead of us. Because parental involvement is an integral part to every child’s education, I will be updating this web page weekly to keep you informed of our current curriculum and class events. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me in writing, through e-mail, or by phone. I look forward to getting to know and working with all of you. If you would like to volunteer your time and/or services, please let me know your availability. The main area of need is copy services and field trip chaperones.
