Welcome to my new classroom website! This year I will be servicing students with special needs in grades K-2. My role as a resource teacher is to provide direct instruction to students with IEP's (Individualized Educational Plans) in the least restrictive environment. Most of my time is spent in the general education setting assisting students with their classwork, organization, and social skills. There are also times when I need to pull students out of their rooms and work with them in a small group setting with less distractions. This is the time when they are working with me in room 305A. Most of the instruction in room 305A is in the area of reading, writing, and math. My reading curriculum is based on a research based multi-sensory approach and my writing and math curriculums are modified versions of Lucy Calkins and Math Trailblazers, which are both used in the general education classrooms. I look forward to working with my students and their families and having an extremely productive, exciting, and challenging new year!
