Learn the mysterious moves of Egyptian dance! This group practices every day except Wednesdays. School grades must be maintained in order to participate in this program. Peter Martin teaches percussion at Northwestern University and Trinity International University while completing his doctoral degree in Music Performance and Pedagogy at the Northwestern University School of Music. These one on one lessons are designed for students who may be above the beginner level, or who simply prefer the private instruction to the group lessons. Students can expect to learn proper technique and fundamentals through use of both the snare drum and drum set. We will learn and play snare drum solos and exercises, the basic rudiments of drumming, and drum set rhythms from popular songs of their choosing. John Smillie is a local rock/indie/jazz drummer who currently plays with bands Information Superhighway and Eli Jones. Required Materials: Drum Practice Pad, Drum Sticks (5A recommended size), Practice Pad Stand (optional) $30-40 approximate cost $25 per 30 minute lesson
