One of Our Most Frequently Asked Questions: Are there school uniforms? If so, what is the uniform policy?

Yes, the Nettelhorst School has a uniform policy that applies to students in K-8. Preschool students do not have to adhere to the policy:

Bottom: Black or blue slacks, shorts, or skirts (no denim of any color). Shorts must reach a length of at most 2 finger widths above the knee.

Top:
White, light blue, or navy blue collared or crew-neck solid color shirts. No sleeveless or scoop-neck shirts. Underclothing should not be visible.

All clothing must be logo-free.

Footwear:
No flip-flops; no shoes with wheels such as "Heelys."

State laws permit schools to regulate garments, hair styles, or other accessories which create distractions in the learning environment.

Nettelhorst logo wear is permissible.

The Out-of-Uniform Days fundraiser occurs monthly, usually on the first Wednesday of the month beginning 10/5/11. Students may dress out-of-uniform and are asked to bring a small donation that will be collected by the classroom teachers. Look for emailed announcements, and check the school calendar, for dates.
