Your contribution directly supports the children of Nettelhorst
Nettelhorst has evolved into a case study in how a public school can be reborn and revitalized.
And much of that success has come from the contributions of people like you, who have helped Nettelhorst overcome funding shortages that are the reality in public schools today.
Nettelhorst's children need your active participation to take best advantage of the school's momentum, as we continue to create an environment within which over 620 students -- kindergarten through eighth grade -- can realize their potential.

2009-2010 Annual Helping Hands Campaign

Supercharging Technology and Education Nettelhorst's Technology - From the computer lab and library to classrooms throughout the school, the school's technology has become obsolete. This year's Annual Helping Hands Campaign will replace and upgrade computers and technology throughout the school, allowing teachers and students far greater opportunities in every field of study. Specifically, your donation to the Campaign will help acquire new workstations and software for the computer lab; new notebooks for teachers; and new projectors for the classrooms. Beyond providing more powerful hardware and software, the new equipment will be safer (wireless, so no cables to trip kids, and far superior ergonomically), will produce less heat (the outdated CRT monitors make the lab one of the hottest rooms in the school), and will give teachers and administrators state-of-the-art tools to teach every subject more deeply and powerfully. The Campaign goal of $70,000, when reached this year, will allow the students and teachers to enjoy the benefits of this technology at the beginning of next year.

Inventing the World of Tomorrow help, we'll ensure that this space provides children of all ages with the tools and opportunity to become the inventors and problem-solvers of tomorrow. Take a look at the complete blueprints—donated, along with extensive consultation, by Kewaunee Scientific Corporation (lab designers for Abbott, Baxter, Northwestern University, and others)—here.
The rebuild costs only $90,000, and will supercharge science education for thousands of children over the coming years! To assure a quality science education, the lab will also be outfitted with up-to-date equipment (at an additional cost of ~$45,000) to replace the current broken and outdated equipment.
